Birthday Boy!

Brayden turned two on October 29th!  I can't believe it!  I have a two year old. Wow.

He is such a big boy now, he loves dancing (more on that to come), talking more and more, likes trains, cars, motorcycles, and balls.  He throws everything.  Great Grandpa Hague can attest to that.  I think he got hit in the head a couple times with balls on his last visit to Kennewick.  Speaking of Grandparents he LOVES his grandpa's and grandma's and asks to go to their house nearly every day.  He takes one nap a day that usually last two to three hours, and sleeps almost 12 hours a night.  He just recently learned how to crawl out of the crib, but Daddy sternly told him that he can't do that and he hasn't done it since. Phew.  He has turned into a super picky eater, and he loves apple juice.

To celebrate our cutie-pa-tootie this year we had two birthday celebrations for him (Grandma Hague was out of town so when she got back into town we celebrated with her).

We went bowling with Grandma and Grandpa Murdock and then after his nap we had pizza and ice cream cake.

 Pumpkin shaped Pizza

Brayden got a Harley Davidson Bike and a Little People Airplane

Then we celebrated with the Hagues!  We had Grandma and Grandpa Hague, Darran and Lori and their girls!

Lori made Brayden a cape.  It was perfect timing because Andy recently introduced Brayden to Superman and he loved it.   He fly's around the house so a cape is a perfect accessory for Brayden.  So when Brayden saw the cape he immediately wanted to put it on and Andy flew him around the room and he gave everyone a high five.
Grandma and Grandpa got him the Polar Express book.  It's Brayden's favorite movie right now.

and a pop up thomas the train tent

we got Brayden a remote control thomas the tank thingy... Here's a link to it

Andy and I have had our eye on it for a while now, just thinking that Brayden would love it.  So when I saw amazon had a "lightning deal" for it I had to get it.  I was going to wait till Christmas to give it to him but Andy couldn't wait. Haha.  It's pretty cool.  Plays music, talks, and even steams...

I attempted to make Brayden's birthday cake myself this year and it was a total fail... I haven't decorated a cake since I was like 12 in young womans... and it's a lot harder than I thought it was.  Oh well he still liked it and it tasted really good.  I found this how to on pintrest, and it looked fairly simple so I thought I'd give it a go.  I made the icing that she suggested, but I skipped over some details that she recommended like using a #1 icing tip ( I didn't know their were different sizes) and I may have made the icing a little too thin.  So my Thomas details are a little smudgy and the icing was totally falling off the cake.

Proof that he liked the cake!

When he was done eating he all the sudden slowly stood up and stood on his booster seat, it looked like he was ready to fly away.  We were all cracking up, I guess you had to be there.
After playing with Braydens toys for a while we pulled out grandma's toys to play with.
Grandpas toys are always more fun.

Looks like a good birthday! Hailey has that little people airplane too. She loves it. I'm pretty sure that I saw a little people airport somewhere, that'd be fun to go along with the airplane.

I really wish we were closer so we could get to know Brayden. He sounds like a fun kid!

I meant to tell you that I think your cake looks super good! It looks way better than anything I would ever make. I'm impressed with your Thomas the Tank.

I can't believe he's already 2!! And I agree with Renae, your cake really looked good. Don't be so hard on yourself! I never would even attempt to make something that detailed. Nice work, mama! (PS. Eva has little people airplane too. Just had to join the club:) )
