This past weekend we headed to the beach and got a lesson in paddle boarding! We have seen people doing it at the beach before and thought that it looked fun and that we needed to try it. So finally we did it. It was a warm day but ended up being a little windy so our instructor took us to Tierra Verde bay rather than the beach because it was an area that's protected from the wind. I stayed with Brayden while Andy and some of our friends tried it out. They got a short lesson and then hopped on their boards and paddled away.
This is actually me and Andy. My friend let me get on her board just for a minute or two to try it out. It was super fun and way easy. I look a little awkward in this picture though...
This is our friend Matt taking a little break. The board is huge which makes it super stable. You can lay, sit, kneel or stand on the board. People can surf with them but we will stick with flat water.
Even though Brayden was stuck in his stroller the whole time he still had fun. I didn't let him get down on the sand because there was about a million crabs running around and he always heads straight for the water.
After an hour of paddle boarding we worked up an appetite so we drove around and found a restaurant to eat at called Brass Monkey that was right on Pass A Grille Beach. We ate dinner and watched the sun set over the ocean from the restaurant balcony. So amazing. Even though we are coming up on 3 years of living in Florida I still can't get over how nice it is in the winter. It's November but still 80 degrees. Pass A Grille beach was such a good find too. It was a cute little beach town that we had never been to before. We ended the day by laying in bed and saying, "that was such a good day!" We are so lucky that we live in Florida and are only an hour from beaches that people fly from all over the world to see. We sometimes take it for granted and don't get out as much as we should.
Brayden really did have a blast he did super good at dinner and even tried a lemon for the first time.. hahaha. He has had a super huge appetite lately and wants to eat everything we have.

That looks fun! I've never seen paddle boarding before. And I'm terribly jealous that it's November and you guys can wear shorts and short sleeves! We're already freezing out here! Also, I've totally been thinking about you the past couple of days. It's been a little while since we've talked. I think we're due for a chat. :)

Paddle boarding is really popular in Seattle right now. Tyler and I went for the first time this year, it was really relaxing. I bet it was much warmer in Fl though! Brayden's looking really cute, love the lemon picture!
Hey I just found your blog! It has been forever! glad to see Florida is treating you right! Brent and I have wanted to try Paddle boarding forever so I guess we should actually go for it!
